Background
Hi, I'm Timothy Stolz. When I was five years old, my mother had a dream that one day I would become a musician and play the piano. Lessons began that year in Lincoln, Nebraska. Our family moved to Greeley, Colorado, in 1959, and at the age of eight, I was able to play for the elementary school choir. Weekly piano lessons continued while mother made me practice 30 minutes every day. By the time I entered high school, I was the pianist for an eleven-piece dance band, The Impressions, the school choir, the high school jazz band and for my church. I studied organ at the Ed Dunklee studios in Denver, Colorado.
The Inn of Glen Haven (northeast of Estes Park) has been my piano venue since 1990. The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park first invited me to perform in 1991. Today, The Stanley Hotel books me for their Sunday brunch season, weddings, receptions, anniversary parties, holidays, and corporate and special events. I have performed at The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in Denver, The Boulderado Hotel in Boulder, The Fort Collins Marriot Hotel, Sylvan Dale Guest Resort in Loveland, Estes Park Wool Market nine consecutive years, Estes Park Conference Center for the annual meeting of the International Festivals & Events Association, Hyatt International, LTD, Holiday Inn of Estes Park, Nicky’s Resort of Estes Park, Greeley Colorado Country Club, Ramada Inn of Greeley, Fort Collins Country Club, Ptarmigan Country Club in Windsor, Denver Furniture Retailers Association Annual Dinners, and for a wedding on a yacht offshore of Santa Catalina Island, California. Yes, the yacht had a grand piano!
